Christopher Rose (founder and co-host 2012-2020) is postdoctoral fellow (2019-20) at the Institute for Historical Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his PhD in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. His dissertation project comprised a social history of the Egyptian home front during World War One through the lens of public health. He has also been an Adjunct Instructor in Cultural Foundations, Global Studies, and History at St. Edward’s University in Austin. He has been actively engaged in public scholarship projects since the late 1990s, and is currently president of the Middle East Outreach Council. During his lengthy tenure as Outreach Director at UT’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies (2000-2016), he conducted numerous professional development sessions for educators, co-wrote several curriculum units for K-12 classrooms, and took numerous groups of educators to the Middle East.
